When I first moved to this area mid last year, I started playing Runes of Magic. It was one of those times that took me back to when I used to play World of Warcraft years ago. When my husband gave me his former gaming machine full-time, it was a welcome change from using a laptop that had difficulty playing the game. However, I have only just put the game on the new computer. Why? I was waiting for the new expansion to come out for a few months so that most of the bugs could be sorted.
And boy, did that three month wait make a difference!
No longer do I get irritated whenever I gather materials or make stuff. The interface is brighter and shinier. I also get to play an elf character now, with the new class options of Warden and Druid. The expansion has also dealt with a crapload of other stuff as well.
For those of you that aren’t already aware, Runes of Magic is a free-to-play MMORPG, with free download. It has been referred to as “the best WoW clone I have ever played” by a few of the people that have reviewed it, including one of my best buddies that lives in Logan. This is right on the money, as a lot of the graphics and games controls are pretty close to that of WoW. That being said, I think it can stand on its own two feet as the world is in a constant state of flux.
You can get more bling by playing for diamonds, but even these can be purchased for large wads of cash within the auction house. Diamonds do pay off however, in that you can buy permanent mounts for your character. You can also purchase 30 day mounts in the item shop using 14 days worth (1400) Phirius coins. Guilds are another thing that can be purchased using diamonds. There are also things called Rubies, that are also used for buying stuff in the item store, but these are given as a bonus from other purchases. You have more options in the Rubies section, but Diamonds open a bunch of stuff up for the player. The only problem is that I don’t have budget to purchase diamonds as yet.
Recently, started playing on the new PvE server in the North American zone, Palenque, and welcome you to join me in the big adventure. I am currently playing Phillia, an elven warrior / druid. Plans are in the works to play a male elf rogue / warden, probably with a suspect name, such as Phallic. Yes, this is a sign of just how childish I can be, but I like it like that. Anyway, I hope to see you guys there sometime soon.
